Japan for 5 days

Hmmm, I think missing out on Tokyo would not be a good idea. I realize there are only 5 days, but going to Tokyo is just one of those things you have to do when you visit Japan. And in the Tokyo area, there are also beautiful areas in the countryside to visit. You can go to Takao san, Nikko, Kamakura, Izu, etc. And as for food, the best food that I have ever had in Japan is Kagoshima's food in Kyushu. Sooooo good. Black pig shabu shabu and kyushu ramen can't be beat..

The Japan Tourism Agency will promote foreign travel to Japan by introducing the country's sightseeing spots to potential foreign tourists on a country-by-country basis, agency officials said Wednesday. The agency will conduct promotional activities targeting 12 nations and areas that have sent a large number of visitors to Japan by choosing priority sightseeing spots for each country and area, the officials said.

 

Tourism promotion panel to call for more ATMs for foreign credit cards

A government panel for promotion of tourism will call for an increase in automated teller machines that accept credit cards issued overseas as a step to attract more foreign tourists to Japan, according to a panel-drafted set of recommendations made available Thursday. The panel, headed by Ushio Inc. Chairman Jiro Ushio, will also call for an increase in foreign language information for foreign tourists at sightseeing resorts, removal of poles carrying electricity cables in order to preserve traditional townscapes, and more promotion overseas of Japanese arts and food, as well as of public safety in the country.
